Pulp Printed Portraits of Jesus, Chicago, 2007

As part of an ongoing interactive street performance that addresses American perception of religion, religious figures and the roots of personal moral values, Drew Matott enlisted pedestrians of downtown Chicago to make portraits of Jesus Christ. Participants were asked to select images that reflected how they perceived the physical likeness of Jesus; the icon of the church the Jesus attended; and a quote that Jesus might have said.

The images were printed using pigmented cotton fiber and silkscreen.
A total of thirty portraits were made during a four-hour period Saturday, March 10, 2007.
