Students will explore a variety of world papermaking history and techniques including; traditional western papermaking of breaking rags
and plant fiber in a hollander beater; traditional Japanese papermaking, hand beating kozo and gampi fibers;
traditional Tibetan paper sheet formation; non-traditional, sculptural and dimensional paper formations;
calendering, burnishing and Japanese hole punch binding.
